Southern Railway

The Southern Railway was formed by the grouping of the London and South Western Railway , the London Brighton & South Coast Railway and the South Eastern & Chatham Railway on the 1st. January 1923. The Southern was nationalised in 1948, becoming the Southern Region of British Railways.
